Stijn Gisquiere began studying architecture at the Sint-Lucas Institute in Ghent but switched gears and graduated in June 2001 with a Master's in Visual Arts from Luca School of Arts in Brussels, specializing in graphic design, multimedia, comic art and illustration.

Since September 2003, Stijn has been teaching Illustration and Comic Art at the Academy of Visual Arts in Ghent, while also contributing illustrations, cartoons, and other graphics to various media outlets.

His comic strips have graced magazines across Europe, and his graphic short stories have been exhibited both in Belgium and abroad. In 2003 and 2005, he released his first two albums, "Paradise On Earth 1 & 2". The complete "Paradise On Earth", including part 3, was published in 2015.

His children's book "Can I have this dance?" ("Mag ik deze dans van u?") was published in 2025.

When he's not busy with art or photography, Stijn is out exploring the world. His online selection of travel photos offers a glimpse of the beauty and diversity of over 80 countries he's visited.
